N.S. Power installs test tidal power turbine

A turbine that will test the potential of tidal power has been successfully installed in the Bay of Fundy.
The turbine began turning in the Minas Passage, about 10 kilometres west of Parrsboro on Thursday afternoon.
The 400-tonne device was installed on the seabed by Nova Scotia Power and its partner OpenHydro.
The Nova Scotia government has contributed $9 million to the tidal power project.
The province has set a target of producing 25 per cent of its electricity from renewable resources by 2015.
Research suggests that tidal power in the Minas Passage could create up to 300 megawatts, enough to power 100,000 homes.

Waterfall

Nancy, Jana and I went for a hike today in the harbour . Seen a beautiful waterfall , still researching the name .

Prize Winning Pumpkin Carving

Nancy who lives in the Harbour did this pumpkin carving for her work where they held a pumpkin carving contest . She won !!!!! She carved this just by looking at a picture, WOW , nice job.
